The UK Cornhole League celebrated the thrilling conclusion of its second season on July 20th at the National Championships. The event featured the top 16 players, who either won a qualifying competition or earned their spot based on national rankings. Alongside the main event, a Tier 2 National Championships tournament allowed all other UKCL players to compete.
The day was filled with intense matches, showcasing the league's growing talent. In the National Championships, Richard Blake travelled from Germany and emerged undefeated, claiming the Season 2 National Champion crown with five consecutive wins in the bracket section. Richard had previously qualified by winning the Qualifier 3 title in Bury St Edmunds in February. The UK’s number 1 ranked player, Daniel Lilley from the Manchester Cornhole Club, once again made it to the final but fell short, losing 21-12 to Richard. Tony Gavan secured third place, demonstrating resilience despite a recent finger injury.
In the Tier 2 event, teammates from the Ashby Baggers Cornhole Club faced off in the final. Charles Lomax, undefeated in the King seat, beat Mark Pallett 21-15 to take the title. Daniel Goodier from Manchester Cornhole Club finished third, entertaining the crowd with dynamic airmail shots.
